Joe Gemma, the chief revenue officer for Wauseon Machine, has been awarded the 2024 Joseph F. Engelberger Robotics Award for his leadership and contributions for the automation industry.

Named after the man widely regarded as the father of industrial robotics, the award was established in 1977 and has been presented to 139 leaders globally, forming what some in the industry call the “Hall of Fame” of the robotics and automation sector, Wauseon Machine said in a statement.

The Association for Advanced Engineering (A3) recognized Gemma alongside two other industry members for their significant impact within the field.

Gemma’s tenure includes a board member position with A3, formerly known as the Robotics Industry Association, and two years as the president of the International Federation of Robotics. He has been with Wauseon Machine since 2022.
