Germany-based industrial automation manufacturer Phoenix Contact has named Dirk Görlitzer as its new CEO, replacing outgoing head Frank Stührenberg, who is set to retire at the end of December 2024 after 33 years with the company.

Görlitzer has served as general manager and chief operating officer (COO) of the company since 2020.

To ensure a smooth transition, Phoenix Contact officials said in a news release, Stührenberg and Görlitzer will share the role of CEO from July 1. Stührenberg will also remain associated with the Phoenix Contact Group in the future as chairman of the supervisory board of the newly founded company Phoenix Contact E-Mobility Holding SE.

Görlitzer has been with Phoenix Contact since 1994. His career has taken him from being a product manager to head of the business area industrial components and electronics (ICE), and on to the current Phoenix Contact Group executive board.
